Hartwick College User Reviews and Ratings
A Great First Start to Higher Education
By Alum, from Virginia
As an alum, both my brother and I graduated from Hartwick with very good experiences. The Study Abroad program was first rate and innovative, the faculty were excellent teachers and responsive to our questions and concerns. I feel it gave me a firm foundation for going out into the world to succeed. I had the chance to be Yearbook Editor, and also worked on campus. There were many opportunities. It was safe, and I felt as if I were part of a warm, friendly family who cared about me.

oldest was heavily recruited to play sports at multiple schools, when it came time to decide, she chose Hartwick, it's been a very good experience for her, challenging academically and she's thriving on and off the field. While it wasn't my first chose for her, it was her choice and she's happy. It's unfortunate a parent would feel the need to leave a negative review for a school they never attended.

Poor Quality Starts at the Top
By Concerned Parent, from Confidential
My child was heavily recruited for athletics. Driving away, I knew we were making a mistake. The students held up as the role models at convocation were anything but, and I recall my child saying that the admissions interviewer was unimpressive. After being bullied by fraternity boys who the administration protected, our child decided to transfer. It was the best decision we ever made. Hartwick lacks leadership, is devoid of culture and attracts kids who lack motivation. If you are a parent, ask why so many kids leave, and half fail to graduate. I wish I had looked at was right in front of me, but the horrible experience helped us get grounded on what is truly important. I hope to share this so other families won't be impacted by the complete lack of leadership, that doesn't protect the students in its care, and aspires to retain the mediocrity that defines it.
