Amusing anecdote
学校: Harvard University
The Three Mustoeteers I’ve grown up in a sorority. No, not like the ones you see in Girls Gone Wild.
I’ve just been surrounded by females throughout my life. A faint smell of nail polish
is always apparent in my house, and some sort of hair-styling equipment is always
plugged in, ready for use. Some may think that such a high level of estrogen in one
household could be toxic, but I disagree. My female relationships are some of the
strongest I possess, and have made me who I am today.
I’m the middle sister of three, each of us only two years apart. Despite our
closeness in age, my sisters and I rarely fight. Instead of competing with each other,
we congratulate one another on our successes. Although I am still a competitive
person, I leave my competitive edge on the field, and allow myself to relax with my
family.
If there’s one thing I feel when I’m with my sisters, it’s safe. I’m free of
judgment or criticism, and can and will tell them anything. My sisters are my allies,
especially when it feels like the world has turned against me. I can count on them to
keep me buoyed.
Unlike with other relationships, my sisters always understand me. We’ve
developed a bond such that silence in the car isn’t awkward, but rather a time to
recharge, reflect, and relax. I’m able to study with my sisters, because we don’t get
distracted by each other’s company. Sure, we take study breaks and chat, but we all
value our time and realize the importance of a strong work ethic.
We’re like pieces a puzzle the three Mustoeteers; we fit well together. Our
shared sense of humor, interests, and values are what make us a perfect trio. We
have so much more confidence with each other. We remind each other of our
strengths and individuality.
As the middle sister, I’ve always had my older sister to look up to. I wanted to
follow in her footsteps, yet at the same time create a path of my own. And I have
succeeded at it; I am the only singer in my family. I also set an example for my
younger sister. I like to perform to the best of my ability to be a good role model for
her. I am motivated to succeed to show my sisters what I am capable of. Although I don’t know what my future holds, my sisters will support me in all of my endeavors.
I’m unafraid to take on the world ahead of me, because the world around me has given me the support I need to pursue my dreams.
