Community is an important aspect of my life, and I want that to continue 

throughout college. I am looking for a home away from home. Northwestern with its 

strong community would be a good fit for me.

The residential housing at Northwestern looks like the ideal way to meet new 

people and forge strong relationships. I am impressed by the relationship between 

students and the faculty housemaster. As an undecided major, I look forward to 

hearing the advice and guidance available in the houses. I am excited to explore the 

Weinberg College of Arts and Sciences, and appreciate the opportunities for 

undergraduates to participate in research.

I’m looking to broaden my academic horizons at Northwestern. I’m 

fascinated with courses in Gender and Sexuality Studies, and would be interested in 

taking “Sexual Subjects: An Introduction to Sexuality Studies” in my first year. I’ve 

never had the opportunity to take a class in gender studies, but would love to be 

exposed to some.

Given my interest in medicine, I am very excited about the Northwestern 

Undergraduate Premedical Scholars Program (NUPSP). I am particularly interested 

in the combined Master of Arts in Medical Humanities and Bioethics program. I 

would love to attend both undergraduate and graduate school at Northwestern, and 

have an enriching background in medicine and the ethical questions it evokes.

I’m passionate about singing, and I would like to be a part of different groups 

at the collegiate level. I’m eager to join an a cappella group, such as THUNK, which 

promotes building friendships by a shared love of singing.

I appreciate that Northwestern is located in Evanston, because the university 

has its own campus, but at the same time has all the perks of cosmopolitan Chicago.
