Thank you for reviewing my application. If nothing else, the following are a few interesting points that may not already come through on my application.

I am the oldest of four kids, and thus have learned patience more than most. Achieving at my highest capacity is very important, and I push to excel at every activity I participate in. Music is my primary outlet for self-expression and creativity, which is why my list of activities is heavy in that direction; an interest of mine is music composition, and I hope to explore this direction with a minor in music focused toward piano or vocal. Running is another activity that I often do to relax (which seems odd, but I promise it works), and while I'm not terribly great at it I still enjoy it a lot.

One last note, I would like to share my favorite quote: "Whatever you are, be a good one." ~Abraham Lincoln. While cliché, this quote really does ring true throughout my actions. Early in high school, it seemed that everyone was trying to be the leader of everything. Every upperclassman said that the most important thing in school is a good résumé, and a long list of titles, and many achievements, and so on. Very quickly, I learned that not everyone could be president of an organization—there are just too many people and too few elections. That realization is part of what guided my decision to run for mostly secretarial positions for the organizations that I have been involved with. By holding an office without the fanfare, yet all of the capacity for leadership and the chance to make a meaningful difference, it was a perfect fit. Throughout high school, I have learned many important lessons such as: do not take yourself too seriously, remember to have a life, and invest more in relationships than you take out of them. By adopting the mental role of secretary instead of president, I realized something even more important; leadership is not decided by an election or a position, but rather by the actions that are taken with the opportunities that arise.
