Mother: College Admission Essay Sample
学校: Marquette University
Mothers often have an important, unbreakable bond with their children. This is especially true for me. My mom has had the biggest influence on who I am today. She has given me the upbringing that is necessary for me to continue to succeed in life.
My mom has always inspired me to do my best and to never give up. This has carried over into every aspect of my life, including my schoolwork. I have always tried my best to get straight A’s on every report card. With the help and support from my mom, I have come close to this goal every semester while maintaining a grade point average above an A-.
My mom also taught me to never take the easiest route to get to where I want to go. She always suggested taking the hardest classes possible without becoming over-loaded. But even with my hard schedules, she would never accept a lower grade than an A if I had not tried my best. Throughout grade school, I would be punished for not doing what needed to be done in school on time. This led me to always finish my work on time and do the best I could on it.
Even though my mom was very strict with all school matters, she also taught me to be a kind, compassionate young man. She taught me to always treat others with respect. In fact, the first rule I learned from her as a toddler was the golden rule—treat others how you would like to be treated. She taught this to me by setting the perfect example. To this day, I can honestly say I have never seen her lose her composure over anything that would set off an average person’s temper.
The most influential person in my life will always be my mother. She has done so much for me already in my life, and I know she will still continue to inspire and set an example for me every day.
