Looking to the Future: College Admission Essay Sample
学校: Michigan State University
It seems as though every day since elementary school people have been asking me the same daunting question: “So, what do you want to do when you grow up?” While my creative mind continues to come up with a different idea for each day of the week, I haven’t yet stumbled upon the perfect occupation for me. My sincere hope is that a liberal arts curriculum at the University of Michigan will help me gain this insight.
In the meantime, I plan to capitalize on my strengths and look in the direction of my strongest subject: English. I devoured books at a young age and have excelled in the area ever since I could first read. My friends are constantly handing me essays to edit, and many a Friday has been devoted to all-night Scrabble competitions. Of all the fields of English, journalism interests me the most-I eagerly anticipate being a first-time writer for the school newspaper this year. I love to not only state the facts, but also to let my voice run through every article. My hope is that I can present basic ideas in a way that forces the reader to look at issues from new angles. These qualities, paired with the countless writing clubs and classes offered at U of M, make me confident that I will soon be able to further narrow my area of interest.
