PolyU is the only university in Hong Kong that incorporates Work-Integrated Education (WIE) and Service-Learning as mandatory components within the undergraduate curriculum, encouraging students to apply their knowledge in practice to address societal needs and improve the lives of the needy. Hence, graduates are sought after by employers. Students of PolyU will be exposed to countless learning opportunities both inside and outside classroom, allowing them to specialise in their interests and follow their dreams. The University has a solid presence in the Chinese mainland, with six regional centres established to offer subjects, internship and Service-Learning opportunities for students in collaboration with mainland universities and corporations. With a focus on multidisciplinary collaboration, PolyU fosters innovative research to meet the changing needs of society and advance technology frontiers. Students have vast opportunities in engaging in research projects. The University has outstanding performance in knowledge transfer, contributing to the advancement of businesses and industries. We welcome students to be part of this exciting journey. Students’ life at PolyU Hong Kong is a place where “East meets West” with its diversified cultures and historical heritage. Overseas students will not only experience the rich Chinese and Western culture embedded in the city, but will also have opportunities in gaining exposure in the Chinese mainland and other Asian countries. Apart from the benefits provided by the city, a wide array of co-curricular and extra-curricular activities are offered at PolyU to accommodate different interests and needs, and for the all-round development of students. Developmental programmes "Out-of-classroom" learning activities, such as mentorship programmes, talks by experts from various disciplines, study tours, industry-based student projects, etc. are designed for students to equip themselves and explore possible career paths. Vibrant hall life As “home away from home”, student hostels provide safe, pleasant, supportive and nurturing living-learning environment for hall residents. Hall life is rewarding and exciting thanks to the many hall activities, such as high-table dinners, inter-hall sports competitions and festive parties. These are great opportunities for local and international students to appreciate different cultures and learn to become global citizens.
