I graduated in 2016 and had a fantastic experience. Learned a lot, made life long friends, and graduated with very, very minimal debt. The town and surrounding area is beautiful. I live in Boston now but often think about how much I miss living in New Paltz. New Paltz really changed my life for the better. Only con I can think of is that NP is not very well known compared to larger private universities. IMO this is a great place to get a solid undergrad education in a beautiful area will minimal/no debt.

Prepare for a change in your child

If you want your child to be defiant and delve into activism and question your parental authorities.. yes this is the college for them . This school comes highly regarded and is not easy to get into .. prepare yourself for anything when your child goes off to college.. from what I've heard from others it's common & quite sad
